![]() Pavillions are more of an advertisement of the country and have got hardly anything to do with the theme. Even after paying for the ticket, some stuffs like a garden in roof etc needs you to put more. Some cultural shows were private so you can't even enter. After all, it all started as expo 2020 and it's the last q of 2021. They won't allow you inside and some ask you to return after few hours. Some of the pavillion are not yet open and most not fully constructed. You can see the huge money spent, but it's not worth the experience. Too much of space has been underutilized. Driver and authorities took time to figure out who to take to expo, guys with ticket or free ride to all. Starting with the free bus - the expo rider. Got on the first day with much expectations. Infrastructure is similar to Europe and you can find just about anything that exists in any European or American or Asian city - and much much more, at about the same cost. This is definitely a city that is a destination unto itself and well worth a week-long visit. Having never been to Dubai before, I was amazed by all that I discovered there. Riding metro was a breeze - just avoid rush hour when trains are full - the trains run every 2 to 4 minutes so if one is full wait for the next one! The architecture, design, innovation, use of androids and artificial intelligence, and the amazing restaurants (the food guide is 52 pages long) make it a worthwhile experience. I could have easily spent a whole week exploring this Expo. It helps to get a 30 day pass ($54) which allows entries on ten different days of your choosing plus it allows you to schedule your visits to the various pavilions online to avoid standing in line. I spent three full days and managed to see all the major sites and about thirty national pavilions. ![]() It’s a great way to visit the World without needing to travel beyond the Expo site. ![]() You have to pre book the Emirates which we hadnt as no slots were available but we were advised to come early on one visit and they would try and fit us in and they did when we got there at 10am.ĭubai’s Expo 2020 which was delayed due to Covid is very well organized and easy to access using Dubai’s new Metro system. ![]() short waterfall display inside and also the Emirates Airline pavilion. We also enjoyed the DP (Dubai Port) pavilion. Countries i have vaguely heard off and it was good to get to know something about this countries. In the guest services there are also small newsagent type shop where you can snacks and drinks.įavourite exhibits - Russia, Ireland ( live music) Thailand and to be honest the smaller exhibits. Vending machines at all the Guest Service areas and the there are food trucks areas (cheaper eats) but never enough seating round these. We were able on all visits to bring in snacks and water and there are water stations round the expo. ![]() TIP - if you use the free childrens club on your first visit ( 2.5 hrs) they get given these passport books for free)įood in the restaurants here are very expensive. Lovely to see the Expo at night when it is all lit up and also when performances where happening in the main central area. It didnt feel too busy but main pavilions such as Russia, UK, Korea and Japan did have long queues so we got these on another day when we arrived first thing. This became a key driver esp for the kids to get the stamps as they visited each exhibit / pavilion. 1st day (weds) we came early afternoon and a must is the purchase the passport book (20AED). It is worth researching before going to work out the best country pavilions and there some where a pre booked slot was required which were all allocated so in hindsight I should have planned earlier. We visit 3 times over 6 days and even then we didnt see all of it. Expo is way much more and 4 times + bigger. It is huge! Someone had said think of Epcot and that is Expo but it is not. Visited Expo as a family of 5 and used our free tickets from Emirates Airline These were exchanged on our first day to a season ticket so for us entry was free. ![]()
